Deputy Director, Port of South Louisiana
Roy Quezaire was born, raised, and is a life-long resident of Donaldsonville, Louisiana. There he attended Lowery High School and subsequently attended and graduated from Southern University and A&M College with a B.S. in business management. He is a devoted member of St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church of Donaldsonville and is the proud father of Ryan, Denise, and Germaine and is grandfather to five.
Mr. Quezaire has served in the position of Deputy Director for the Port of South Louisiana since 2013, in which he works under the Executive Director, assisting with direction and management of the day-to-day
operation of the port and the training, supervision, and evaluation of assigned underling directors and personnel along with oversight of Globalplex Intermodal Terminal, Marine Operations, and Port of South Louisiana Executive Regional Airport. Prior to his tenure at the Port of South Louisiana, he was Legislative Liaison for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development between 2007 and 2012, serving as the single-point contact between the agency and legislators. Prior to that, he served the citizens of his district as a member of the Louisiana House of Representatives for 16 years.
Roy Quezaire has served on various maritime-related boards and committees throughout his professional career: International Association of Maritime and Port Executives, Board of Louisiana River Pilots Review and Oversight, World Trade Center of New Orleans Transportation Committee, Ports Association of Louisiana, Regional Planning Commission – Freight Division, and the Louisiana House of Representatives Transportation Committee (1992-2008), in which he served as both vice-chairman (2001-2004) and chairman (2004-2008). He has several job-related certifications: Export 201 and 301 Certificates of Completion from the Louisiana Export Training Program (2014, Project Cargo Management Certification, from Project Professional’s Group/Quality ISO Group SAI Global (2013), International Trade Certificate from the World Trade Center of New Orleans (2013), and Certified Port Executive from the MacDonnell Group (2013).
